Environmental Education

Overview

Reimagining how sustainability is taught in schools.

We believe the classroom is one of the most powerful spaces for change. Through our environmental education initiatives, we work with students, teachers, and education leaders to make climate learning practical, inspiring, and action-oriented.

why it matters

Today’s students will inherit a planet facing unprecedented environmental challenges, from climate change and biodiversity loss to resource depletion and pollution. Yet traditional education systems often treat environmental issues as abstract concepts confined to science textbooks, disconnected from students’ daily lives and futures. This gap between the urgency of environmental crises and how we prepare young people to address them represents one of the most critical shortcomings in modern education.

Environmental literacy is no longer optional. Students need to understand how environmental systems connect to economics, social justice, technology, and their own communities. Without this foundation, future generations will lack the knowledge and skills to make informed decisions as citizens, consumers, professionals, and leaders. The choices they make in the coming decades will determine the trajectory of our planet’s health.

Schools are uniquely positioned to transform how young people understand and engage with environmental challenges. Unlike one-time awareness campaigns or passive media consumption, classroom learning offers sustained engagement, critical thinking development, and opportunities for hands-on experience.

We’re investing in the most powerful catalyst for long-term change: informed, motivated, and capable young people. Students learn to compost, measure their school’s carbon footprint, restore local habitats, gain knowledge, and environmental activists. Teachers who integrate climate learning across subjects help students see sustainability not as a separate issue, but as central to everything from math and economics to art and civics. This approach creates ripple effects that extend far beyond the classroom, influencing families, communities, and eventually, entire societies.
